( Cofounder as a Service )
Grow your business with a partner in the decisions and the daily work.
Cofounder here means a business partner on your project, on terms we agree up front. I join for the long run.
We set the direction together, get the work organized and pick the technology the project actually needs. I take on an agreed share of the delivery, and what we do next comes out of what's happening in the business.
Tell me what you want to do. We will work out the scope and whether we can work together.
We work out what's worth doing now
- Maybe you have a project to launch.
- Maybe you have a company where every new idea competes with the work that pays the bills today.
We look at what you're going after, what your customers need and what you've actually got to work with.
Then we pick the nearest goal, split the work and agree on what waits. You know where the time is going and how we'll tell it's moving.
The decisions and the work, in one place
Direction: sharpening the offer, testing the assumptions under it and choosing what comes next.
Operations: priorities, who owns what, and how we see progress without asking around.
Technology: a site, an app, an automation or an internal tool, when the project needs one.
Before we start we agree what I take on, what we do together and what stays your call.
Someone to think the next decision through with
Because I'm in it long term, I know the history: what we already decided, what we parked and why. You can come back with a doubt or a new idea without re-explaining the whole thing.
We can also just say we don't know yet. Then we agree what to test before the next spend or the next change of direction. And when other people work on the project, they know what was agreed and who has the next step.
Where I've done this before
At Stanversity, an education startup, I ran day-to-day operations and the handoffs between marketing, research and sales. At Revive and Insist I handled teams, money and getting a music agency off the ground.
I worked in the family transport business. Today I co-run eskapizm and build the tools it runs on.
With my own brand, Hemp of Mind, we had the product, the branding and the partners lined up. I killed it before production, after taking another look at the market. Now I check whether people will buy before we build.
That's what I bring in. Your project still has its own conditions, and I have to learn those first.
Scope and pay, set per project
We start from what's already working, what's missing and how much of me you need. That sets the scope, who's responsible for what, how we work and how I get paid.
There's more than one way to handle the money. A flat fee for an agreed scope, a lower fee plus equity, or another split if that's fairer both ways. I don't work for equity alone.
Cofounder as a Service is just what I call a long-term engagement on a project. The actual terms we settle one on one, before any work starts.
Tell me what you want to do. We will work out the scope and whether we can work together.
